Snowglobes
I am in the holiday spirit, so I thought it would be fun to have the kindergarten join me for another little project this past week. We made snowman snow globes. Students made their snowment by printing with marshmallows! Then we used oil pastels and paint to complete the look...along with a little glitter for sparkle! The results are awesome!!!
Typically, WVE students do not participate in art until first grade...but I just had to have the K students have art work for Art to Remember! :)
Art To Remember
This fall, the art room is creating art work to send in to a company called Art to Remember. The company offers the families in our building the opportunity to purchase items with their student's art work on it (like coffee mugs, keys chains, mouse pads, tote bags, ornaments, etc...). And as an added bonus, 25% of the proceeds go directly to our art class for the purhcase of additional art tools and supplies!
Kindergarten created hand print fish in an aquarium. We started out with painting a watercolor background. Next students printed 'bubbles' with blue and white using a tube on their background. Once complete, students were able to choose a color scheme to make their fish hand print. The following week, students added little details, added color with crayon. Last, students were able to print the 'gravel' at the base of the aquarium using a Qtip.
